Went to the Blacktop Nationals yesterday, it's an annual classic car show in downtown Wichita. Here's an album of some pictures I took on my cell phone. I may try to go back on Sunday and get some proper pictures.
Ford puts up a big display including a ride and drive booth. They let you drive two (boring) fords around a tiny little course then ride along in an exciting car. One of the exciting cars this year is a Fiesta ST. Needless to say I was pretty stoked to ride in that, even though I'd rather drive it.
So, opinion after 60 seconds? It's quick. Faster than the Mustang around the tiny course. I thought the sound symposer was too artificial in the Fiesta compared to the Focus, frankly it sounds like the Focus ST which some may say is a good thing, I think it should be more unique. The interior felt spartan and cheap, but being a demo car it's probably been beat to hell, and again, with only 60 seconds in the car it's hard to pass off a valid opinion but it didn't blow me away. I'll be curious to try and drive one when they finally arrive, and at least spend more than 60 seconds inside of one, but at least now I don't feel as guilty for going with the Sonic.
